Service Description

Reserve the QIDI S-Box large-format resin 3D printer with a build volume of 8.46" x 5.11" x 7.87" which is ideal for detailed small projects, protypes, and functional parts* The QIDI S-Box is a large-format UV resin 3D printer with an upgraded resin vat, a 10.1 inch high-precision 2K screen, 3rd-generation matrix parallel UV light source, and improved Z-axis with TMC2209 intelligent chip. This equipment may be booked for up to two four-hour sessions per week. If you need more time, please speak with INNOV8 staff. 3D models and gcode files must be preapproved by one of MDC Iowa's INNOV8 Lab staff members or a volunteer 3D printing expert to ensure proper print speed, temperature, and resin selection. MDC Iowa has a large selection of 3D printer supplies including various resin types that can be used for printing single models - multiple prints or small batch printing projects must provide their own filament or resin. DO NOT USE MATERIALS WITHOUT PERMISSION. The QIDI S-Box is compatible with Chitu slicing software and several other 3rd party software like Lychee and Prusa. A USB drive is required to transfer your sliced gcode file to the 3D printer. If you are not familiar with how to slice your 3D model, please allow 15-20 minutes at the beginning of your reserved time to have a qualified INNOV8 staff or volunteer assist you with the initial setup.
