Support Our Work
To remove socioeconomic barriers and improve equitable access to resources, MDC Iowa offers classes at no cost to the community. To continue to provide these programs free to those who need the support we need your help. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to support program costs and operational expenses or volunteer your time and talent.

Why Our Work Matters
Underrepresented groups in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) include African Americans, Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, and Hispanics, who collectively represent 26% of the US population, but account for only 10% of the STEM workforce. Through our hands-on learning methodology and intentional focus on the representation of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, we can increase exposure to STEM, enhance student preparation for technical careers and mitigate some of the systemic factors around STEM attrition.
